  • welcome…

...to my blog. please enjoy to see part of our world through my eyes. i hope to be able to show you the beauty i see in people and our surroundings.
being a photographer gives me the chance to laugh with "strangers", to see their beauty and document it forever.
i thrive on meeting new people - the more diverse, the better.

Emily

Emily graduated. Not high-school… and it was not her first graduation. She has about a “gazillion” degrees. She’s talented, beautiful, fun (actually hilarious would better describe her). She’s daring and fearless (more or less at least). She cuts my hair (well, now I have to find someone else). She’s moving to the big apple. Stupid apple. I like other fruit much better!

I always wanted to take pictures inside a school bus. We did it together. And luckily she looks so young. The manager thought she graduated from high school. I did not want to correct him… nor should we have.;)

Thanks my friend, I had plenty of fun and wish we could do that again sometimes soon!!

My Little Austrian Boy

Max, do you know how much I love you? You are the cutest toddler in the world… and I don’t mean just the looks! You and Sebi are my Swiss-German-Austrian-American love.

Kelly

Kelly asked me to take some nice bikini pictures of her and create an “sports illustrated” style magazine for her. She surprised her husband with it on his birthday. And I do have to say, would I have her figure, my husband would get the same birthday gift…, the bound booklet looked amazing! ;)

Thanks Kelly for being such a pretty model and for making this shoot tons of fun! You look stunning!

My favorite shot. Look at that face…

Thomas and Sigrid

Finally I got to meet Markus’ aunt Sigrid and her Thomas. Even though it was the first time I’ve seen them, I feel like I’ve known Sigrid for a while now… Taking their pictures was just absolutley fun. The two of them have great personalities and I’m glad they came all the way down from Canada to visit and share their vacation with us!

This must be my favorite…

Crazy story: While taking their pictures, some seemingly homeless (definitley drunk) woman came up to me and asked me to take a picture of her. I asked her: “how will I be able to get you the picture?” where after she answered: “No, it’s for you, you can keep it…” – so I took one:

Aubree is turning…

…3

It’s been my pleasure to be able to take pictures of Aubree and her family for three years in a row now. There is not much better than being able to capture someone grow – and with Aubree I feel like I have been a very small part doing that. Thank you guys for letting me take your pictures, you are incredibly fun to work with!!!

My favorite of the day…it does look like a kiss, doesn’t it?   For the previous years look here and here. And not to forget her b-day party last year.

a passion

This morning, Max ran to the bathtub and yelled with full excitement: “Bah, Bah”. That means “badä” which is swiss-german for “bath”. I told him it’s not time to take a bath and did not think much of it. His look changed from excitement to utter disappointment. He looked at me whith his cute, button like, dark eyes which seemed to fill with tears. So I asked: “do you really want to take a bath right now?”, thereafter his eyes started to fill with excitement again. So he got a bath. Almost a full hour of splashing… his love for water he got from his father, no doubt!

The pictures are from two weeks ago. I love this boy!!

a few close up’s

Here a few close up’s of our cute, small (well, that’s relative) new-born. His skin is still so soft yet very dry and full of peach-like hair. He grunts and squeaks but does not cry much. He eats often, very often!

Sebastian

After a few hours laboring in the Hospital, I was finally ready to push. Without my knowledge, the nurse had turned off the epidural about 30 minutes before Sebastian was born… I was wondering, why the pushing hurt so much more than last time I gave birth.

Sebastian was born at 4.35pm on thursday the 8th of july, weight stunning 8pounds 8ounces (compare to Max who was 7pounds 1ounce), and was 20 inches long. He’s a little chubby and very cute. He’s like a little blond monkey boy with thin, apricot like hair all over his body. (Also much different from Max).

Sebi had some fluid in his lungs and had to be watched for a while though they never had to remove him from our room. He even got an x-ray in our room.

After some time, his body adjusted and at 10pm we finally where able to move into a recovery room. We are so happy to have yet another healthy boy in our home. We fell in love with him immediately and can’t wait to see him make progress and learn just like Max does.

Please welcome Sebastian!

better late than never

We’ve purchased our condo about 3 years ago. Ever since we moved in, there was this super tall, empty wall by the stairs that we just simply could not figure out what to do with. We had some ideas for a while and knew it will be sailing related, since Markus loves sailing so much.

It was not until I saw these that I finally figured out what to do with the empty space. I wanted a BIG piece, something that can’t be overlooked and I think I was successful!

One of the hardest things was choosing the picture. I wanted something that would pop out, so I edited a picture of a sail I took a while ago. (I think it was in 2006 or 2007).

Once the picture was selected and edited, I had to cut them into small pieces in photo-shop (which took me about an hour). Each section would be it’s own 4×6 print.

The full artwork exists out of 136 pictures, each 4×6″. The assembling was quiet time consuming (I think it took me about 2.5 hours).

Since we’ve never painted this area, Markus and I painted it all the whitest white you could find. (Yes, i LOVE white walls, unlike most other people).
Luckily Markus is such a perfectionist and therefore the hanging of it was quiet fast. (Would I have done it, we would have to re-do it at least two times).

And here is the finished project – 3 years after we moved here…

Is it crazy, that the picture is now 6 feet by 4 feet?? I love the fact that it is that big!
